D’BANJ TO DEBUT IN A NOLLYWOOD MUSICAL BLOCKBUSTER MOVIE

Symphony, a Nollywood musical blockbuster movie with youth and music as its central theme, is set to hit cinemas on the 9th of September, 2022. ‘Symphony’ is a beautiful and well-told story about life, love, dreams, success, trials, societal failure and the resultant effects. The movie reflects the travails of a typical talented African youth, struggling to overcome all odds in order to breakthrough.

Shot in exotic locations across Lagos, the film parades an array of multi-award winning African stars such as Nigeria’s ace entertainer D’banj (Oladapo Oyebanjo); Ghanaian movie legend Jackie Appiah; Kenyan superstar diva Tanasha Donna and Nollywood legends and stars like Lanre Hassan (popularly known as Iya Awero), Bolaji Amusan (Mr. Latin), Kalu Ikeagu, Efa Iwara, Scarlet Gomez, Daniel Abua, Doris Okorie, among others

D’banj and Tanasha Donna made their acting debuts in ‘Symphony’, while Kaleb Iyoha (a.k.a. Mo’Kross) and Sandra Okunzuwa played Slade and Lolita, the lead roles with yet another debutant in Victor Adeshiyan (a.k.a. VJ CrazyLife) who played Slade’s bosom friend.

'MY MUSIC IS NOT AFROBEATS' - Burna Boy

Burna Boy

Nigerian singer and Grammy Award winner, Burna Boy, has clarified that his style of music is called Afrofusion, and not Afrobeats as assumed by fans.

Burna Boy who spoke about his genre of music during the latest episode of The Million Dollar Worth of Game podcast said because the music genre comes from Africa, doesn’t automatically make it Afrobeats.

Speaking on why he calls it Afrofusion, Burna stated that he decided to call his style of music Afrofusion because it’s a fusion of everything and the Afro-Africaness is the thing that covers it.

He also said Africa has so many genres of music, adding that generalising it all as Afrobeats is a “disservice to other artists” in other genres.

“For me it’s like the same way you’re going to say Nas is an R&B singer because he’s from America or Whitney Houston was a rapper because rap is the most popping thing now,” he said.

Not every door you keep knocking, some you forcefully knock it down.

Yeah! I mean you should really "KNOCK IT DOWN"

Many a times the door was shut deliberately to restrict your access and no one is ready to open if you don't break in.

What door is restricting you?
- Mindset/ Paradigm
- Philosophy
- Location

et al

You desire the next level?

Break the norm!
Break new ground!

Break free... take the bold step

APPOLOGIZE TO YOURSELF

It's the second half of the year and I think at this point, you will need to apologize to yourself and make sure you turn a new leaf.

- What happened to your new year resolution(s)?

- What are the promises you made to yourself early this year?

- Do you still remember those promises?

- Did you fulfil any of them?

- Are you working on fulfilling any of them?

- Don't you think you owe yourself an apology for defaulting in a simple agreement deal you made with yourself early this year?

Go back to your drawing board, revisit those plans, vision and promises you once told yourself you will work on.

Amend your ways where necessary and let the second have counts.

NB: Don't just count days, make days count

CRISTIANO RONALDO BREAKS JUVETUS' GOAL SCORING RECORD

Portuguese forward Cristiano Ronaldo on Saturday became the first-ever Juventus player to score 25 goals in Serie A in over 60 years. The 35-year-old goal-machine achieved this monumental feat during Juve's league clash against their local rivals Torino. Cristiano's free-kick goal helped him match the efforts of former Juve forward and club legend Omar Sivori from 1960-61. Ronaldo's impressive goal-scoring standards have been maintained throughout the current season, with him finding the back of the net on 25 occasions through just 26 appearances in the Italian top-flight.
It was the 46th club goal Ronaldo had scored in his career direct from a free kick but his first in nearly two seasons with Juventus and on his 43rd attempt.
“I needed to score from a free kick to get some confidence back,” the 35-year-old Ronaldo said.
