7 NIGERIAN NOLLYWOOD GIANTS WHO COMBINES ACTING WITH LECTURING

The cinema of Nigeria, often referred to as Nollywood, grew quickly in the 1990s and 2000s and became the second largest film industry. How ever, some Nigerian actors have been able to combine their acting skills alongside with their lecturing jobs.
Arranged in no particular order, let’s find out who they are:


1.      SOLA FOSUDO: Dr. Sola Fosudo is a senior lecturer at Lagos State University department of Theatre Arts and Music.
He has at different times been made the Head of Department and was until recently the Director of Press and Public Relations Unit at the university.

2.      HAFIZ OYETORO: The actor is a lecturer at Adeniran Ogunsanya College of Education in Ijanikin, Lagos. Apart from acting and
lecturing, Saka is also a brand ambassador for MTN and has modeled for different firms including Diamond
bank and Etisalat.

MEET MR. ADEBAYO OGUNLESI, WHO ACQUIRED GATWICK AIRPORT, NEW YORK

Mr. ADEBAYO OGUNLESI, was born to the family of Prof. & Mrs. T.O. Ogunlesi of Makun, Sagamu, Ogun State, Nigeria. His father was the first Nigerian Professor of Medicine. He attended King’s College, Lagos, Nigeria, after which he received his B.A. with first class honours in Philosophy, Politics and Economics from Oxford University, his J.D. magna cum laude, from Harvard Law School and his M.B.A. from the Harvard Business School.
He travelled to England to earn an honours degree from Oxford University, then entered a joint law-business degree programme at Harvard University in the late 1970s. At the law school, he was one of just three non-Americans in his class. “There was a guy from Saudi Arabia, a guy from Iran and me,” he joked with the New York Times’s Andrew Ross Sorkin. “When I resumed at Harvard, I  thought that all of us would go back to our countries, become rich, and endow chairs. I hope the Iranian and Saudi did, because I never endowed a chair.”
Adebayo Ogunlesi is currently Chairman and Managing Partner of Global Infrastructure Partners, a $15 billion joint venture whose initial investors included Credit Suisse and General Electric. He is also a member of the Board of Directors of Goldman Sachs. Prior to his current role, he was Executive Vice Chairman and Chief Client Officer of Credit Suisse, based in New York. He previously served as a member of Credit Suisse’s Executive Board and Management Council and chaired the Chairman’s Board. Previously, he was the Global Head of Investment Banking at Credit Suisse.

Meet The Nigerian Who Bought Gatwick Airport For £1.5 Billion. This Nigerian is reported to have acquired and now runs London Gatwick Airport. Adebayo Ogunlesi, 56, is the chairman and managing partner, Global Infrastructure Partners (GIP), an independent investment fund based in New York City with worldwide stake in infrastructure assets, is the new owner of the London Gatwick Airport. Adebayo Ogunlesi attended the prestigious King’s College, Lagos. He is a member of the District of Columbia Bar Association. He was a lecturer at Harvard Law School and the Yale School. Ogunlesi has lived in New York for 20 years and is active in volunteer work. But he also cultivates his ties to Africa. He informally advises the Nigerian government on privatisation. Prior to his current role, he was executive vice chairman and chief client officer of Credit Suisse, based in New York. He previously served as a member of Credit Suisse’s Executive Board and Management Council and chaired the Chairman’s Board. Previously, he was the Global Head of Investment Banking at Credit Suisse. Since joining Credit Suisse in 1983, Ogunlesi has advised clients on strategic transactions and financing in a broad range of industries and has worked on transactions in North and South America, the Caribbean, Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Asia. PLANTASHUN BOIZE REUNION AS 2FACE & FAZE PERFORM TOGETHER ON STAGE

2Face And Faze In Amazing Makurdi Reunion as they both performed together on stage at the STAR MUSIC TREK (Held at IBB Square in Makurdi – Benue State).

The Plantashun Boiz were once the biggest contemporary act in Nigeria. The trio of 2Face, Faze and Blackface were the subject of many a teenage girl’s fantasies with their list of hit songs such as ‘Don’t U Know’, ‘You And I’ and ‘Knock Me Off’ in the late 90s and early 00s.
Following their breakup in the middle of the previous decade, their musical journeys took different routes with all three members going solo. On Saturday August 1 at the IBB Square in Makurdi, Benue State, 2Face and Faze came together for a rare stage reunion at the Star Music Trek 2015 #MakurdiRocks concert which also featured performances from Yemi Alade, Runtown, Kcee, MI, DJ Neptune, Tony Blaze and Gbenga Adeyinka.
The concert, which was a homecoming of sorts for Benue State homeboy 2Face was packed to the rafters with thousands of expectant fans eager to set eyes on their hometown hero. After performing several of his hits, he surprised the crowd by inviting erstwhile bandmate Faze onstage and then the evening got really intense.

MAN SNATCHES BEST FRIEND'S WIFE; CLAIMS ALL 5 CHILDREN

A man has snatched his friend's wife, claiming he owns all five children.

Gilbert Maduako, a 52 year-old resident of Ugwuakwu Village in Umuchu in Aguate Local Government in Anambra State, is not a happy man at the moment as he has lost not just his wife, but his five children to his best friend, Akwusi Aluwaogu, who allegedly snatched her and took away the children, claiming that he was their father.
According to information, the marriage which produced the five kids, collapsed after Oluchi and her children moved to Aluwaogu’s village of Akokwa town in Imo State, where she introduced the children to his family as his kids.

THE CITY OF HOUSTON DECLARES JULY 17 'BASKETMOUTH DAY'

The Mayor of Houston Annice D. Parker signed a document proclaiming July 17 as Basketmouth Day in HoustonBright Okpocha (born 14th September 1978) better known by his stage name Basketmouth, is a Nigerian stand-up comedian and rapper.Although it wasn’t categorized to be standup comedy; it was called wording in other words yabbing, which he did all through his secondary years. In 1991 Bright discovered his skills in drumming, which he did for over 5 years after wards. During his days of being an instrumentalist for his church and a band at that point, he also discovered his skills in rap music and later diverted into that path in 1994. In 1995, he, his friends and brother formed a group called da psychopaths. It had 7 members but they split before they could even release an album or single.
