Reggae
act Patoranking signs deal with the
world's biggest reggae label VP Records
The reigning king
of dancehall music in Nigeria signs an international record deal with the
world's leading music label for reggae and dancehall music.
Hot dancehall act Patoranking who use to be a dancer for Daddy Showkey, has reportedly signed a distribution
deal with VP Records, which is the biggest reggae music imprint in the world.
The Foston Musik
signee posted a picture of him signing the distribution deal with VP Records
exec. The caption read "Foston Musik/Vp Records. God is
great. Impossible is nothing#whayasay."
VP Records prides
itself as the largest reggae music label in the world. The imprint founded in
1979 has over fifty four acts on its roster.
Some of these
artistes include Sean Paul, Bounty Killer, Barrington Levy, Mad
Cobra, Mr. Vegas, Shaggy and Maxi Priest.
Patoranking broke
into the music industry in 2013 with the single 'Alubarika' featuring Timaya. He established his
presence with the remix of his second single 'Girlie O' featuring Tiwa Savage in 2014.
In the same year, he
won the coveted Rookie of the Year award at Headies.
Patoranking signed to
Foston Musik in 2014 after being closely associated to Timaya the previous
year.
